argh, this video took literally two years to finish. Granted, i've gotten a lot done in those two years (like graduating high school and starting college), but it still took way longer than it should have. Most of the delay was due to the massive amount of renders in the video (for every distinct render in the video, assume it took 6-20 hours to render, and assume that I had to re render it 5 o...

Im playing war thunder n just had the idea that tanks would do so much better if they didnt have to expose their entire weak side when they need to go in a side direction. If a tank had wheels or tracks or something that could make it go and turn in any angle, the tank wouldn’t even need a swivel gun anymore, and bigger guns could be used because there is no risk to damaging the turret and there can be enough room for a huge gun.

I’m an 8th grader in VEX, and it’s my first year. Though my team I think is going to do well at our next competition due to my middle school being a good place to start. My older brother is a senior, so he started with Tower Takeover, so it’s really cool to see how bots from 3-4 years ago were built.

My uni just started up a VexU team this year. I’m not heavily involved since I’m president of the Lunabotics team (which I got involved in before VexU started). I want to try and do some more early season designs like I did for change up, but that’s contingent on getting time around there where I’m not moving across the country like the last few summers lol. I see the vexu members working in the shop all the time and really miss doing it, I had a ton of fun. I still have 2-3 video ideas for vex stuff kicking around from high school I’d love to make when I get time.

I know this is old as hell, but I used to have one of these. Except mine only had 2 gigs of RAM. Then I ran the ultimate test; Can it minecraft? Answer? Nope. Even with the lowest settings, barely managed 2 fps. And then it overheated and died on the same day the warranty expired. Or at least I think it overheated... The fan on the PC wasn't happy the last few weeks of life... Then it BSOD'd and was stuck in a boot loop. All of this happened before I finally learned how to actually fix computer issues (as well as build computers from scratch), but at the time, that meant scrapping it since it was only worth like 200 bucks at the time and the shop I went to in order to try to fix it, wanted 250 just to replace the HDD.

Hey Kepler I hope this isn't too much to ask of you but could you make a video or series of videos where you go over the uses of most of the vex pieces. Like for instance a video going over the framing pieces talking about how to use them and what they do. I feel like this could really help people in their first year in robotics figure out what pieces to order and understand how and when to use things so that they may not be as confused. I do understand if you don't want to do this. This is a lot, but I will be very grateful along with a lot of other people if you do this.

For sure! The 980 I bought is pretty old, and I bought used specifically because of the price. If you want a newer card, I’d go with a 3060. I tried to upgrade to one, but the performance was basically the same as the 980, so I ended up returning it. It’s new enough that you should be able to get one new in box from a reputable seller, or find one lightly used. 4060 could also be a good card, but I haven’t put any thought into buying one yet.
